An Occupational Medicine Physician specializes in Preventive Medicine and focuses on the health and well being of employees. We are trained to recognize and address hazards in the workplace and work with companies to protect their employees to meet health and safety standards. We perform fitness for duty exams to ensure employees are healthy and able to safely perform their jobs. We prevent illness and injury in the workplace, treat injured employees, and help them return to work safely.
Ensuring the health and safety of workers, providing occupational medical services to industries, businesses, agriculture, government, and individual workers/single employee businesses.
Dr. Checketts is board certified in Occupational and Aerospace Medicine. He is a member of the American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM) as well as the Western Occupational and Environmental Medicine Association (WOEMA). He completed his residency in Occupational Medicine and Masters degree in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Utah.
Dr. Checketts served on active duty with the United States Air Force for 12 years with assignments at RAF Lakenheath, England, Tinker AFB, Oklahoma, Edwards AFB, California and Hill AFB, Utah. He currently serves in the Utah Air National Guard.
He has a vast amount of experience in managing occupational medicine programs and treating workers in various types of workplaces and industries. Dr. Checketts is a certified DOT medical examiner, Senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiner, certified Medical Review Officer (MROCC), and CAOHC Professional Supervisor of Audiometric Monitoring Program (PS).
